Digital Edge Indonesia Secures Premium Platinum Service for Data Centers from PLN

(Jakarta, 7 September 2022) – PT Ekagrata Data Gemilang (Digital Edge Indonesia) has reaffirmed its trust in PLN’s Premium Platinum Service for Data Centers by securing a 40 MVA power supply from PLN Unit Induk Distribusi (UID) Jakarta Raya. This premium service ensures Digital Edge Indonesia’s data centers are powered by two distinct sources, equipped with an Automatic Changer Over (ACO) system for seamless power source switching during main supply disruptions.

General Manager PLN UID Jakarta Raya, Doddy B. Pangaribuan, and CEO Digital Edge Indonesia, Stephanus Oscar, witnessed the signing of the Premium Platinum Service agreement for 40 MVA by PLN UP3 Menteng Manager, Sigit Arimurti, and Digital Edge Indonesia Director, Den Tossi Ishak.

This agreement boosts PLN’s total supply to Digital Edge Indonesia to 58 MVA, distributed as follows: Data Center 1 (EDGE 1) at Tendean with 18 MVA supplied by PLN UP3 Bulungan, and Data Center 2 (EDGE 2) at Setiabudi, South Jakarta, with 40 MVA supplied by PLN UP3 Menteng.

Doddy B. Pangaribuan expressed PLN’s delight in supporting Digital Edge Indonesia’s growth, highlighting Digital Edge Indonesia’s pioneering role in Jakarta’s data center sector and its commitment to using Renewable Energy.

“We hope to see continued growth in Jakarta’s data center industry, with PLN as the primary choice for electricity supply,” said Doddy B. Pangaribuan.

Stephanus Oscar thanked PLN for its responsive service, emphasizing the confidence that PLN’s Premium Platinum Service for Data Centers brings to Digital Edge Indonesia’s operations.

“PLN’s Premium Service enhances our ability to meet our data center users’ needs reliably,” added Stephanus Oscar.

Jakarta’s current electricity supply is supported by 6 subsystems with a total capacity of 8,120 Megawatts (MW) and a peak load of 5,351 MW in 2022. With a 34% reserve supply, PLN is well-prepared to meet the growing demand, estimated at 300 MVA, for data centers in Jakarta, ensuring a stable and sufficient power supply for the future.
